Dr. Ivonne Mosquera-Schmidt (Dr. “I”)
Doctor of Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine, Licensed Acupuncturist
Board Certified Massage Therapist, Certified Reiki Master, RRCA Coach

A Colombian native growing up in New York City, Dr. Ivonne learned to move and adapt quickly.  Having lost all of her sight to retinal cancer by 2 years of age, her critical thinking, resourcefulness   and intuition also matured early. Today this enables her to view every patient as a unique individual, and to deliver compassionate holistic care through acupuncture, massage, herbal medicine, and energy work.

Dr. Ivonne has extensive corporate experience from working in Finance, Project Management, and HR with companies including The Dow Chemical Company, IBM, and The National Science Foundation. She has spoken at schools and universities, corporate events, at the U.S. Congress, and the United Nations. Additionally, she is also a world renowned Olympic Runner and Triathlete, and works on bridging communities across the world through athletics and healthcare.

Dr. Ivonne’s passion for massage, Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine developed slowly over the last 20+ years. In 2002 she won a raffle for an acupuncture session that “unexpectedly” helped with childhood constipation issues. Then in 2003 she received her first sports massage for ITband syndrome, which sparked her interest and study of the human body. Later in 2014, she sought acupuncture and herbal medicine to help manage side effects and recovery from bladder cancer treatment. Since then, Ivonne has turned to massage, acupuncture and Chinese Medicine to regain her health and enhance athletic performance and recovery. She believes these were at the core of enabling her to compete at the 2016 Paralympics in Rio. These experiences compelled her to switch careers and enter the healthcare space. Today, Ivonne would welcome the opportunity to support you on your health and wellness journey.

Dr. “I”’s  Acupuncture specialties include- Acute and chronic pain, digestive irregularities, headaches/migraines, stress/anxiety/depression, and sports performance/recovery.

Dr. “I”’s massage specialties include- Orthopedic/therapeutic, sports, trigger point, relaxation,  Myofascial release, Reflexology, and Thai massage.

She has worked with current and retired athletes from the NFL, NFL Combine, University of MN Gophers, NHL Hockey, USA Ju Jitsu, MN Vixen.
